PULLMAN, Wash. - Led by sophomore Catherine Park's record-setting round, USC posted the best team score in tournament history to headline the second round of the 2024 Pac-12 Women's Golf Championships at Palouse Ridge Golf Club on Monday.

A day after the Palouse winds played havoc and only one team and five players broke par, Pac-12 players punched back during Monday's breezeless second round as nine teams and 35 players shot in the red. Palouse Ridge Golf Club played 4.5 shots easier on average Monday (71.20) compared to Sunday (75.72).

Park broke the Championships single-round record with an 8-under-par 64, junior Amari Avery fired a 7-under 65 and senior Brianna Navarrosa added a 5-under 67 to power the Trojans to a 20-under 268 - a USC program record and the lowest team round in tourney history.

The record rounds helped USC (10-under 566) halve their deficit to team leader Stanford, which shot the second-best round in Championships history (14-under 274) Monday and will carry a six-shot lead into Tuesday's finale at 16-under 560.

Not to be outdone, Arizona freshman Charlotte Back also carded an 8-under 64 to match Park and break the previous Championships marks of 7-under-par and 65.

Park (10-under 134) owns a four-shot lead over Stanford sophomore Megha Ganne (6-under 138) and is within striking distance of the Championships individual scoring record of 12-under 204 set by Cardinal phenom Rose Zhang last spring.

Stanford, which shot a Pac-12 Conference record 50-under at the 2023 NCAA Pullman Regional at Palouse Ridge, is also well within range of the Championships team scoring record (USC 2016 - 18-under 846) and a round away from its first Pac-12 title since 2014.

Tuesday's final round will begin off split tees at 8:00 a.m. PT.

Daily 30-minute highlight shows will air on Pac-12 Network the morning following each round - 10:00 a.m. PT on Monday (1st Round recap) and Tuesday (2nd Round recap), and 8:00 a.m. PT on Wednesday (Final Round recap).
