PARIS BOUND
Utah's Josefine Eriksen made history this past weekend when she helped her native country of Norway earn a spot in the upcoming Summer Olympics after they ran a then Norwegian national record run of 3:26.89 in the 4x400m relay at the World Athletics Relays in Nassau, Bahamas. Eriksen and her three other teammates became Norway's first relay to qualify for the Olympics since 1920 when the Games of the VII Olympiad was hosted in Antwerp, Belgium. In the finals on Sunday, the Norwegians finished fifth-overall with another new national record by narrowly beating their previous time by .01 with a run of 3:26.88 on Sunday.

Former Ute and teammate of Eriksen, Dinedye Denis was also on hand in the Bahamas for the races as an alternate for Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) – who also earned a spot in the Paris Olympics on Sunday in the second round of qualifications.

UP NEXT
After the dust settles from conference championships, the Women of Utah will send their group of qualifiers to the NCAA West Regionals (May 23 & 25) – which returns to John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Ark.
